I’m a robotics engineer by training, and I’ve been working with wood and metal since childhood. In 2016, I combined these two passions to create Twig&Bot—a Melbourne-based studio where technology meets craftsmanship.
At Twig&Bot, we design and build sculptural furniture and functional art using both traditional techniques and cutting-edge robotic carving. Our workshop features a one-of-a-kind robot wood carving system we have developed, equipped with a bandsaw, chainsaw, and large router spindle, allowing us to explore textures, scale and forms that would be impossible by hand.
We specialise in transforming raw materials—urban salvaged timber, logs, and metal—into unique, tactile pieces. We also work with commercial sustainable timbers where a particular species is required. Each project is a collaboration with our clients, ensuring that every piece is as individual as the space it inhabits. From log-to-furniture workflows to intricate carved surfaces and stack-laminated forms, our work combines innovation, precision, and a love of natural materials.
